North Texas Future Fund call for nominations for those making a difference in literacy in North Texas
NTFF second annual Bridge Awards honors those making contributions to literacy
January 5, 2010
The North Texas Future Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to solving critical issues affecting North Texas' growth, is looking for nominations for the second annual North Texas Future Fund Bridge Awards to honor individuals, community organizations and corporations that have made significant contributions to improving literacy in North Texas.
Nominations will be accepted through March 1, 2010, either through the online application available by clicking here or by requesting a form from the North Texas Future Fund office by calling 972-621-0400.
The Bridge Awards Recognition Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Renaissance Worthington Hotel in Fort Worth. Dr. Raymond Hart, president and CEO of RS Hart and Partners and Assistant Professor of Research, Measurement, and Statistics at Georgia State University will deliver the keynote presentation on the importance of linking community resource – data, financial resources, and human resources – to improve the lives and literacy levels of members of our community.
"In order to build North Texas as the region of choice we must ensure that we have a strong, literate workforce," said Dan S. Petty, president and CEO of the North Texas Commission and North Texas Future Fund. "The Bridge Awards pay tribute to the individuals and organizations who work to ensure a better life for those that struggle with illiteracy."
Sponsorships for the luncheon are available at $2,500 for presenting sponsor, $1,000 for contributing sponsor and $500 for table host. Individual tickets are $35 each. Registration for the luncheon is available at www.northtexasfuturefund.org, or by contacting the North Texas Future Fund office at 972-621-0400.
The North Texas Future Fund was established as a 501(c)3 in 2001. The founding leaders instituted a vision and mission that called to action collaborative efforts in North Texas to identify critical issues in education and development of a quality workforce and to develop proactive strategies to address these issues.
Established in 1971, the North Texas Commission is a regional non-profit consortium of businesses, cities, counties, chambers of commerce, economic development entities and higher education institutions in the North Texas Region. The Commission is the one and only public-private regional organization committed to enhancing the overall economic vitality and quality of life of North Texas. NTC improves the economy, infrastructure and lifestyle of North Texas by leading and directing regionally cooperative initiatives to accomplish objectives in four primary areas: transportation, aviation, environment and long-range strategies.
